Community Employment Services has a variety of materials to assist individuals with their job search. Job seekers can utilize computers to write a resume or search the internet for job opportunities. Employment related templates and self help books are also available. Our centre is also equipped with printers, photocopiers and fax machines that are available for your use free of charge. Other services include:
• Receive personalized help from an Employment Ontario counselor. Put together a resume, plan your career, get tips on finding work and get interviewing advice.
• Learn about training opportunities, jobs in demand and Second Career to start a new career path.
• Register for weekly workshops.
• Interested in being your own boss, but need financial help and advice? Discuss the Ontario Self-Employment Benefit with a counselor.
• Learn about trade certification and apprenticeship options, and the resources available for financial assistance. Laid off workers receive vocational guidance and assistance through the Second Career application process.
• Students can stop by in April to apply for summer employment opportunities.
• Those interested in upgrading their education can learn about completing high school, adult learning opportunities, post-secondary school and other training.
• Obtain information on improving literacy and math skills.
