Established in 1987, Ontario Centres of Excellence is a non-profit organization that partners with industry and government to drive the development of Ontario's economy. OCE works directly with academia and industry partners to help create innovative products, services, businesses, and technologies while generating jobs and economic prosperity.
Designed to help turn ideas into profits, Ontario Centres of Excellence co-invests to commercialize innovation originating in universities, colleges, and research hospitals across the province. Their programs include: Industry-Academic R&D Collaboration Programs, Commercialization Programs, Entrepreneurship Programs, Strategic Initiatives and more. Ontario Centres of Excellence's main office is located in Toronto with multiple locations across the province. Ontario Centres of Excellence is the pre-eminent research-to-commercialization vehicle in Ontario that connects the dots to bridge academia and industry. Created in response to Ontario's critical competitive challenges, OCE drives the province’s economic growth through support for industrially relevant research and development.
