The Horny Toad Saloon was established in Calgary on May 1, 2011. The name originated from Cave Creek, Arizona a very well known bar and grill, Where the atmosphere was fun, rustic, original and always a place for the neighboring ranchers and tourists to meet up and have a few cold ones in the foothills of Scottsdale and Cave Creek. You could always find a few horses parked in the back and limos, trucks and vipers in the front.
The Horny Toad Saloon is a great little neighborhood pub that serves cold beer and amazing food. We have a fantastic staff always willing to do that little extra, an owner who is almost always on hand to greet new comers, and a regular clientele always around to give him a hard time or tell him a new joke. During our fist year we had some great live entertainment from acoustic jams, to comedy shows, all the way to live bands. You can always find a football, hockey, baseball, or soccer game playing on on of our 9 big screen tv's, which includes one on our beautiful west facing patio, the pearl to our summer season. Our patio is lucky enough to catch the sun as it sets, and for the night owls we have heaters going if the temperature drops. Our kitchen is lead by a truly colorful character, who has a real passion for food. His menu is based on down to earth, good pub grub. Home made burgers, scratch made sauces, and juicy tender wings will tempt your taste buds. His main goal has always been flavor, and that will really shine through when you try his Philly Cheese steak, or his award winning jumbo chicken wings. But do not let the simplicity fool you, he is not scared of a little heat, as his home made Jambalaya featuring Calgary's own Spolumbo's Sausage really kicks it up a notch. Moving into our second year will bring about some changes, and we are always open to your suggestions. We will have specific weekends for our live entertainment, usually falling near the end of the month, but will always been keeping the staples like Wing Wednesdays, and Karaoke Thursdays. We now offer team deal's, and a super quick lunch menu available for under $10 for those on the go. The only thing we will never change is our drive to provide you with the best food and service we can give. We here at The Toad know that Calgary has so many local pubs to choose from, we just hope to make that choice a little bit easier.
