We first do a walk thru with to see what’s involved and doing so the Crew Leader has an idea of what needs special attention, additional packaging or disassemble of furniture for transport safety. Your moving service begins with moving the boxes first to the truck which allows more space for the crew to move around. Next step is wrapping and protecting furniture with moving pads. A moving pad is a big quilt like blanket about the same size of your comforter that’s on your bed. We have in each truck about 100 moving pads. We always have a tool box to disassemble things like beds, tables or mirrors on dressers. If you have not done this yourself when you packed up your home, the next step is to ensure that your pictures, lamps, glass shelves, glass table top is properly protected and sometimes this means using pieces of cardboard, packing tape and bubble wrap. The final step is to move all your furniture in a safe, secure way to the truck by using dollies, possibly going up or down some stairs, maybe down a long narrow hallway, or in an elevator out to the truck. Naturally this may take some time. Once the crew arrives to your new location the unloading process begins. We will move your items and place them in the right spot in your home. This is called furniture placement. We complete the service the same way as a local move only instead of billing by the hour and paying for countless hours of travel, we bill by the pound. Billing by the pound saves you the worry of slow movers. Tip* When packing use lot’s of packing paper in glassware and china plus use durable heavy duty boxes like dish barrels which is a double corrugated box. Traveling long distance the truck traveling at normal speeds but there is a lot of vibrations in the back of the truck due to normal road conditions. A packing service is a full service option that you may choose. Packing usually begins a day or two prior to moving day (depending on the size of the job) and usually takes a lengthy amount of time. Two or more professionals will arrive at your door and use quality commercial packing supplies to pack your home, office or shipment. You may wish to have our crew pack your entire shipment or only one room or area. For example you may ask for your dining room dishes and china to be professionally packed. It’s a good idea to have someone come and give you a FREE ESTIMATE.
