Dakini Doula

Description

Since 1989 I have been providing doula services to birthing families. I offer birth doula services in Vancouver including North & West Vancouver, either at home or hospital setting. Postpartum doula care is provided in Vancouver as well as Burnaby, New Westminster and Richmond. Doula support during birth has been studied and is well documented in showing how beneficial it is for both the laboring woman and her partner. Research finds that having a doula present with you at birth: lowers the use of pain medications; reduces the incidence of a Cesarean section; lowers the use of interventions; increases women's satisfaction and also women breastfeed longer who have had a doula present during their labor.
