Association of Filipino Canadian Accountants

Description

The Association of Filipino Canadian Accountants (AFCA) is a non-profit organization of Filipino accounting professionals based in Toronto with about 400 members. AFCA is affiliated with the National Council of Philippine American Canadian Accountants (NCPACA), an umbrella organization of Filipino accounting associations from 10 major cities in North America.
Our membership includes designated accountants and students with various accounting bodies in Canada, United States and the Philippines and are working in various capacities as accounting clerks and bookkeepers to accounting managers, controllers and government auditors. As a service to our members, we conduct professional development seminars, assist in their job placements and assist in their continuing studies. We also help in the evaluation of the credentials and qualifications of our new immigrant members with the Canadian accounting bodies. For community service, we are actively involved in the free income tax preparation program of Revenue Canada for seniors and low income group and help train new immigrants on computerized bookkeeping. Some of our members are also actively involved with other Filipino-Canadian organizations in their individual capacities especially in the field of finance and audit.
