Exceed Robotics is Robotics Club for anyone above 8 years old in Thornhill.
The program is intended to give kids a chance to learn problem-solving skills which will help them improve math and science skills during school, and give them the motivation to study for the subjects. Kids in Robotics programs do better in other school courses. Program begins with introduction to robots, moving on to robot mehcanics, then software, and finally programming. Students will have a fascinating journey into mechanic, electronic and software world. They will be in groups with designed competitions to create a challenging and fun environment. For enthusiasts, they will be coached to participate in national competitions for FRC, LEGO and VEX. This will give them additional opportunity to be granted scholarships for colleges and universities. Experience shows that students in Robotics program have better idea of what to pursue in post-secondary. Program runs for 1.5 hours per week, each course lasting 8 weeks. At the end of each course, students complete a project. Classes are comprised of maximum 2 groups, each group with 3 students. Various top-of-the-line Robot platforms are provided during the courses for students to practice with. Most platforms are brought in from UK and Germany with modulated capability to help students learn Robotics in a step-by-step fashion.
