I am an owner of an aquarium and have been for over 10 years now. I really enjoy watching the aquarium habitants and how they interact with each other on a daily basis. I find that from day to day that they interact differently. To care and maintain an aquarium does rerquire a bit of time management and routine, but I find that the pleasure of seeing the fish swim and interact with each other more than compensates me for my time of having to look after them! Another unique feature of aquariums is how you decide to decorate them. There is a wide variety of aquarium backgrounds that can be applied to the back glass of the aquarium. What ever aquarium background that you chose will usually set the theme that you are going to use for your aquarium. There is an unlimited selection of different kinds of stones and rocks to put in the bottom of the aquarium. And then you still have to decide what plants, objects and decorations you want the fish to have to swim around or else live in. Now that you have done all this, you still have to decide what fish you want to live in your aquarium. Do you want fish that can live in room temperature water, or do you want fish that require a heater? You will have to determine what species of fish can live together and which one can’t! Will you want bottom feeders to help control the algea? Will you want fast moving fish or the slower and more gracefull varieties? As you can see, putting together an aquarium is an exciting project. It can either be done on a single shopping trip or it can turn into a work in progress that will evolve over a period of time as the different ideas of what appeal to you become apparent. Myself, over the last 10 years my aquarium has had a number of different appearances. Some changes I make just for the sake of change.
