Robert G. Coates has practiced law in Toronto, since 1981, when he was called to the Bar of Ontario and became a member of the Law Society of Upper Canada. He is a member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP). He is certified by the Law Society of Upper Canada as a specialist in Estates and Trusts Law - specifically in Estate Planning, Estate Administration and Estate Litigation. He is known as a specialist in Estate Law.
His work in Family Law includes representation of parents in child welfare matters. He has also represented the Children's Aid Society in matters under the Child and Family Services Act. He is well versed in the procedures of family court, including petitions for divorce and claims for child support and custody. Real Estate has always been a part of Robert G. Coates’ practice, including purchases, sales, financing and refinancing.
