Meal in a Jar began in the home kitchen. Our busy family was struggling to find fresh, healthy options to take for lunch. We almost always ran out of left-overs when we were packing meals the next day. So one morning, inspired by a page on Pinterest, I started building lunches in 1 litre glass mason jars to send with my husband and kids. The jars looked so good, that I took some pictures and posted them to my own Meal in a Jar Facebook page.
It wasn’t long before friends and family started to notice. In the first couple hours, we had 50 hits on our Facebook page. Then, someone asked: Can I buy these? I said: Absolutely, they’re $10 each. And usually, people buy 5 for the week. Give me five minutes, I will put up our menu. In our first week, I received 50 jars ordered through my Facebook page! We’ve now moved into a much larger commercial kitchen and are continuing to create fresh and wholesome meal solutions to enable healthy on the go lifestyles. I have a promise for you: With nearly 25 years experience in the health industry, I know the importance of a balanced diet in a healthy lifestyle. When I make recipes for our jars, I follow the clean-diet principles. We use whole ingredients, with no added sugars or preservatives, and we make all of our meals gluten-free. Most importantly, we never sacrifice great taste.
